• Events for 2019

I am currently working on this season's calendar. Watch this space.

A Story, - Whilst at the West Somerset Railway Rally 2017 a man suggested I went to Blue Anchor to find the man there who had 4 or 5 Austin Gipsy trucks. He told me this man was really keen on them and did not use anything else. I asked how he knew my father (I assure you it could not have been anybody else). He replied he was a butcher in Watchet and each morning my father bought some raw meat for his Siamese cat. Then I said he must have been the devil who tied a pig tail on the back of Father's Gipsy and he drove round all day before somebody pointed it out to him. This butcher admitted his crime, so I said "Got you at last!".  Now days it would be bullying, but 50 years ago it was just good fun.

Reader Feedback

Hi Alan,
Just a thankyou note for all your work in sending the books (to Australia) etc. They arrived a couple of weeks ago though haven’t had a chance to read them to all the grand kids yet. More inside time when the weather gets colder. If you ever bring out more Davey books please let me know. I’ll always be  David Brown fan for sure.
Thanks again for your help, Cheers, David J.

"Davey to the Rescue"

I like this story even more than Waking up Davey. The expressions on the tractors are so convincing.

Lots to see in the illustrations.

Christmas cards and greetings cards.  These are new and feature illustrations from the books all hand drawn by Mary Oldham. Available shortly, watch this website.

"Uncle Humphrey" meets Davey again

Davey and Gipsy  went to the Lynmouth Classic Car event on 11th July.2017.

A lovely setting and a sunny but blustery day. A real pleasure to see "UNcle Humphrey", Davey's original owner there and meeting his Davey again. He bought the tractor new in 1954. See the lovely picture of him with the tractor. It is always a pleasure to see him and I hope he enjoyed the whole event. Lynmouth is such a dramatic setting for any public event.

Woody Bay Steam Railway Gala 26 - 27th. September. 2016

A fine sunny weekend with lots of rail enthusiasts present.

Davey and Jennifer Gipsy attracted lots of interest . The railway is fascinating and the steam engines were polished and smart. The coaches had the old style doors and windows with leather strap to pull up the window.  We all wish the company success in their ambition to extend the length of track.

Sampford Peverell rally, 16th August.

Sampford Peverell rally, 16th August. A small rally but well organised. Some very interesting vehicles were present. Informal atmosphere so public can get up close to cars and tractors.

South Molton Steam and Vintage Rally.

Davey and Jennifer Gipsy were at the rally for both days. Sadly the weather was cool but much interest in Davey and the Gipsy.
