Dulverton by Starlight. Sunday 3rd December 2023. Davey will be there as usual.

A lovely event on a Sunnday afternoon. Great firework display. A great atmosphere and lead into Christmas. Put the date in your diary.

Note when davey is present children may sit on him for photos (adults too) providing the children are supervised by an accompanying adult.

Just a thankyou note for all your work in sending the books (to Australia) etc. They arrived a couple of weeks ago though haven’t had a chance to read them to all the grand kids yet. More inside time when the weather gets colder. If you ever bring out more Davey books please let me know. I’ll always be David Brown fan for sure.

A retired paediatrician (children’s doctor). Almost 40 years working to help sick children. Many rewards but some heartaches. Worked in Reading, Cardiff and North Devon.

A love of anything mechanical, usually that uses or oozes oil !
Love of the West Country and Somerset and North Devon particularly.
Own woodland in Somerset. Love the trees that are older than me and will live longer.

A love of the sea and boats. Sailed as crew on the Kathleen and May historic schooner. Loved every minute of it. Now sail in the Bristol Channel but respect the sea. Also a skipper on the Appledore Instow Ferry (www.appledoreinstowferry.com) and love that too.

Honoured to receive the Doctor of the Year award 2008 from the Well Child charity.

Mary Oldham

A talented local artist with the ability to bring wildlife to reality with beautiful paintings so true to life. See her work at www.maryoldham.co.uk. You will be impressed. I persuaded Mary to step out of her comfort zone and do the hand drawn illustrations of Davey. She will not admit it but she has extended her comfort zone, the illustrations create the character and are evocative too. She has agreed to illustrate further stories.
Mary and her husband Mick have recently retired from Streamways Nursery business and now run a stables and livery, fortunately nearby.
